TurboTax Free Edition - Don’t stress out! Already know you’ll just need a 1040EZ? Use this link to complete, E-File and Direct Deposit (or withdraw, ugh!) your 2007 tax return for free! Just click on “Start Now”. TurboTax will try and offer you “Upgraded” services throughout the process, but just say no. And when you get to the “State File” option, skip it! You can do that for free too! See below.
CalFed - Complete, E-File and Direct Deposit your California 540 online for free. Not nearly as pretty as TurboTax, but straightforward and no frills. It is offered by the California Franchise Tax Board (the official California tax people).
My taxes were pretty darn simple and only took me 25 minutes to do it all… good luck, tax day is just around the corner!
